Saturday September 9th the 74th Venice International Film Festival came to an end with the closing ceremony at Sala Grande, Lido di Venezia. Among the various awards, the Venice Movie Stars Lounge was honored to host the winner of Marcello Mastroianni Award, the young emerging actor Charlie Plummer. The 18 years old rising star of American movies is the protagonist of the film “Lean On Pete”. But this is only a little satisfaction in comparison with the entire work made by the Venice Movie Stars Lounge. 12 total were the films that chose the VMSL as the perfect location for carrying out press activities: from the American thriller directed by Paul Schrader “First Reformed”, to “The Leisure Seeker”, the first American production movie for the Italian director Paolo Virzì. And then again from the documentaries “Human Flow” by Ai Weiwei, a personal journey, an attempt to understand the conditions of humanity in our days; “Jim & Andy” by Chris Smith, the behind the scene of the film ” Man On The Moon”, and “Ex Libris – The New York Library”, the library as a place of welcome, cultural exchange a learning, to the 4 Italian films: “Diva” that retraces the life of Valentina Cortese, directedby Francesco Patierno; “Ammore e Malavita” the action and musical comedy by Manetti Bros.; “Brutti e Cattivi”, the dark comedy action by Cosimo Gomez, and “Controfigura”, the first feature film by di Rä Di Martino. To end with “The Third Murder”by Koreeda Hirokazu that narrates the case of a lawyer and his client accused of murder; “Loving Pablo”, the story of the drug dealer Pablo Escobar and his lover, directed by da Fernando León De Aranoa; Mektoub My Love: Canto Uno, the first chapter of a potential trilogy directed by the winner of Palm d’Or Abdellatif Kechiche. 35 were the celebrities hosted by the Lounge: Jim Carrey, Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem Chloë Sevigny, Charlie Plummer, Ethan Hawke, Amanda Seyfried, Victoria Hill, Barbora Bobulova, Anita Caprioli, Silvia D'Amico, Isabella Ferrari, Carlotta Natoli, Greta Scarano, Anna Foglietta, Michele Riondino, Helen Mirren, Fukuyama Masaharu, Yakusho Kōji, Hirose Suzu, Ludovico Einaudi, Claudia Gerini, Shain Boumedine, Ophélie Baufle, Salim Kechiouche, Lou Luttiau, Alexia Chardard, Hafsia Herzi, Claudio Santamarina, Marco D'Amore, Sara Serraiocco, Corrado Sassi, Valeria Golino, Nadia Kouna. More than 350 were the interviews conducted by TVs and newspapers. 50 the round tables with 10 or more journalists at the same time. An actual point of reference for actors and journalists.
