Tuesday September 5th the Venice Movie Stars Lounge had an intense day full of activities, as matter of fact three were the films hosted at Lounge. The first one, competing for Leone d’Oro at the 74th Venice International Film Festival, that conducted the press activities with the journalists during the morning and afternoon, was the Japanese film “The Third Murder” directed by the famous Kore-Eda Hirokazu who was the winner of 2013 “Premio Della Giuria” at the Cannes festival. Among the actors there were also Fukuyama Masaharu, Kōji Kakusho and the young actress Hirose Suzu. Leading actor Shigemori takes on the defence of murder-robbery suspect Misumi who served jail time for another murder 30 years ago. Shigemori’s chances of winning the case seem low – his client freely admits his guilt, despite facing the death penalty if he is convicted. As he digs deeper into the case, as he hears the testimonies of the victim’s family and Misumi himself, the once confident shigemori begins to doubt wheter his clients is the murder after all. The second film, hosted inside the Lounge’s greenhouse, that
carried out the interviews with the journalists, was the documentary “ Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond – The Story of Jim Carrey & Andy Kaufman” of the director Chris Smith. A behind-the-scenes look at how Jim Carrey adopted the persona of idiosyncratic comedian Andy Kaufman on the set of Man on the Moon. Starring in the film there is the Hollywood actor Jim Carrey who made everybody happy with his congeniality during his arrival at the Lounge. Meanwhile Frederick Wiseman, the director of the third film hosted by the Venice Movie Stars Lounge, answered the questions of the journalists.
